Caladium are a family of over 1000 plants bred from the Caladium Bicolor plant originating from South America. These stunning plants come in a variety of patterns and colors making them one of the most visually interesting houseplants you can find. Indoors or outdoors these plants will go through periods of dormancy where the leaves will die back and return. According to The Spruce "When grown indoors, they do best with lots of heat, bright but indirect light, and plenty of humidity. Even under the best conditions, caladium foliage lasts only a few months before the leaves start to die back and the plant goes dormant again, which is normal."
